Forward

Spin the wheel, and see where you land on the board. What do you do for a living? Will you get married and have children? Will you live in a house or go to the poor farm? Such is The Game of Life.

I have seen photos of myself at places I don’t remember, with people I’ve never met, doing things I don’t recall ever doing. But if I went back to the school I attended in 3rd grade, I could tell you exactly where the boy’s restroom is located. Such is my memory and the selective things I think I can recall.

Not everything in this memoir is true and actually happened. My mind said it did, and that’s the only thing I can rely on.

Many people and events that influenced me are not mentioned in this blog. Even if I forgot them or opted not to mention them, they were influential none-the-less. That does not mean I don’t appreciate them. One thing I’ve learned through all my days on earth is that I’ve learned more from adversity and turmoil than I ever learned in peace and harmony. That’s life I guess.

My plan for each phase of my life is to set the stage historically by describing the era, places, and characters in my life. Once I’ve done that, I can better tell the many interesting and not-so-interesting, but impactful stories that made up my life.

I dedicate this memoir blog to my wife Robin who is one reason why I say I’ve lived a lucky, lucky, life.
